Hello! My name’s Tracey. It’s not much of a name, but it does the trick. I’m originally from a small city in New Zealand, but I’ve been living in Brooklyn, New York, since 2007. I’m married to a nice bloke, we have three premium cats, and my day job is sort of related to indie bookselling.
My 4th-form school report lists my extracurricular activities as: school magazine, rowing, drama, cooking (vegetables). I am no longer interested in most of these things…
What’s Piffler all about then?
Heaps! Veganism (the “no label” kind); my two New loves—York and Zealand; books + movies + art; cats and also non-cats; running; feminism; photography; cooking (reluctantly); trying not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
And what’s “A Vegan Year”?
It’s a record of every dinner I eat for a year. You can read more about it here.
This is where I write about my life, not my lifestyle. I’m vegan and I’m trying not to buy a bunch of crap I don’t need, but I don’t care about yoga or watermelon cleanses or “Minimalism”—so if you want pretty pictures of day planners and fruit platters, you can f*ck right off.
And on that note—welcome!
